Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman participated on 31 August 2020 in the 15th Bled Strategic Forum – the ministerial panel on regional cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative as well as on the challenges and opportunities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In these hard times, we need more communication, solidarity, cooperation and mutual assistance. Solidarity is key – in times of crisis, we can see how strong it is,” Grlić Radman said. Talking about the Three Seas, the minister underscored that its goals were in complete alignment with the EU’s strategic interests and should find their way to the top of EU’s priority list. “By strengthening its three main pillars (transport, energy and digitalization), cooperation within the Three Seas will contribute to a more balanced European development,” stressed Grlić Radman.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenković attended a panel of heads of government and state on the consequences of COVID-19, global management of EU-level activities, relations among member states and finding a joint solution to the pandemic.
On the margins of the forum, Grlić Radman held talks with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. The two ministers exchanged views on coordination and cooperation in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
