Minister Grlić Radman participates in video conference of EU foreign ministers

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday participated in a video conference of EU member states’ foreign ministers

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday participated in a video conference of EU member states’ foreign ministers. 

Via video link with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the ministers discussed China, the Middle East Peace Process and the Eastern Partnership. They also exchanged views on the prospects of strengthening transatlantic cooperation.

“The question of multilateralism is important for Croatia as it brings about stability, predictability and justice, which is very important for states and nations,” Grlić Radman said, welcoming the continuation of transatlantic cooperation based on common values and interests. In addition, the ministers underscored the importance of reaching a solution on the Middle East issue and the importance of an open diplomatic channel with the US in that process.

Reflecting on the Western Balkans as a strategically crucial area and a priority of the Croatian Presidency, Grlić Radman said that the EU and the US should take a uniform stand of support for reforms in Southeast European countries as well as for the evaluation of their efforts and achievements.
