Canada confirms possibility of polling stations for Croatian parliamentary elections

The Canadian authorities have officially confirmed the possibility of setting up polling stations for the upcoming Croatian parliamentary elections at the Croatian Embassy in Ottawa and the Croatian Consulate General in Mississauga

The Canadian authorities have officially confirmed the possibility of setting up polling stations for the upcoming Croatian parliamentary elections at the Croatian Embassy in Ottawa and the Croatian Consulate General in Mississauga. This is the result of intensive diplomatic efforts by Croatia’s Foreign Affairs Service, the Croat community in Canada and the elected Canadian representatives.

In accordance with the law, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has established a commission for the preparation and coordination of the election process. Voting is to be held at the seats of Croatia’s diplomatic missions and consular offices on July 4 and 5, 2020.

Diplomatic missions and consular offices across the world are in the process of obtaining approval from the host countries to hold the elections at their seats. The registration of Croatian citizens with the right to vote ends on June 24. The approval to hold the elections also depends on the epidemiological situation in individual countries.

The Ministry will continue to work hard on obtaining approval from the host countries in which Croatia's diplomatic missions and consular offices are located, so that elections could be carried out smoothly, allowing Croatian citizens to exercise their right to vote.
