Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Monday participated in a video conference of the Foreign Affairs Council (Development).
The ministers adopted five sets of Council’s conclusions agreed upon during the Croatian Presidency. Grlić Radman commented in detail on two of them: youth in external action and “Team Europe”.
“I am extremely pleased that one of the priorities of the Croatian Presidency in the area of international development and humanitarian policy has been recognized - the political, economic and social empowerment of youth, as well as their active role in the development of partner countries,” said the minister, adding that Croatia had implemented the Council’s policies and realized the Presidency’s priorities in this area.
In addition, Grlić Radman welcomed the implementation of the conclusions on “Team Europe”, underlining the importance of urgent humanitarian and health aid to those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the importance of strengthening the resilience of partner countries to its socioeconomic impact. The minister also highlighted Southeast Europe in the context of said conclusions.
"We have to act in unison and coordinately, and show solidarity,” said Grlić Radman.
Also participating in the meeting was WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who briefed the ministers on the current status of the pandemic, as well as on projections and key needs.
