FM meets with Norwegian counterpart

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 29 January 2020 held talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide, who was on a working visit to Croatia

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 29 January 2020 held talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide, who was on a working visit to Croatia.

The two ministers expressed satisfaction with the very good bilateral relations and economic cooperation, welcoming the more frequent high-level meetings and the planned intensification of cooperation during Croatia’s Council of the EU presidency.  

Grlić Radman and Eriksen Søreide exchanged views on the current EU topics such as the MFF, Brexit and migrations, with emphasis on the enlargement policy and cooperation in Southeast Europe. Grlić Radman acquainted his Norwegian counterpart with the priorities of the Croatian Presidency, notably the Conference on the Future of Europe and the EU-Western Balkans Summit, scheduled for May 2020 in Zagreb. The two ministers also discussed priority matters in the areas of Europe’s foreign and security policy.

As an important aspect of Croatia-Norway relations, Grlić Radman and Eriksen Søreide underscored cooperation within the European Economic Area and Norwegian Financial Mechanism, which contributes to the realization of mutual priorities and to additional strengthening of partnership relations.
