This week the newly elected European Commission, president of the European Council and Brussels correspondents of the most renowned international media agencies will be visiting Croatia.
The EC visit will begin 9 January with a gala concert at the Croatian National Theatre, marking the start of Croatia’s EU presidency. The working part of the visit will take place the following day and include a meeting between the EC and the Croatian government, after which EC President Ursula von der Leyen and Croatian PM Andrej Plenković will hold a joint press conference at the Congress Centre of the National and University Library at 11:15.
European Council President Charles Michel will visit Croatia on 9 January and hold a press conference the same day at the Congress Centre of the National and University Library at 13:00. Michel will also attend the concert at the Croatian National Theatre.
Concurrently, 62 international correspondents from Brussels will be visiting Croatia 8-12 January as a customary visit by journalists to the presiding country at the start of the presidency.
During the three-day working programme, the journalists will meet with Croatia’s highest officials and cover the two above-mentioned press conferences. After the programme in Zagreb, the journalists will visit the Plitvice National Park and Rijeka (the 2020 European Capital of Culture) over the weekend.
