Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 5 December 2019 received the Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Head of the British Diplomatic Service, Simon McDonald.
The two officials underscored satisfaction with good relations between Croatia and the UK, expressing desire for their additional strengthening.
They also reflected on the topical EU matters, notably Brexit. McDonald informed Grlić Radman about the development of the situation and expectations after the upcoming parliamentary elections. Grlić Radman reported on the status of preparations for Croatia’s EU presidency, underscoring its importance for talks on the future EU-UK relations. Both officials were hopeful that the EU and UK would remain close.
