Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 19 November 2019 attended the 11th conference on socially responsible business, organized by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

In his address, the minister underscored the importance of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adding that Croatia in particular had pushed for the areas of peace and security, the rule of law, sea and ocean protection, good governance, as well as human rights and transparency, and highlighting the crucial role of corporate social responsibility.

Grlić Radman underlined that during Croatia’s EU presidency we would continue working on strengthening the unique multilateral system and on promoting the 2030 Agenda within the EU and UN. “We are well aware of the complexity of its implementation. Sustainable development requires analysing the situation and processes in countries and the world in a comprehensive way. Sustainable development is a governance issue which calls for real instruments to ensure harmonization of interdepartmental policies.”
