Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 23 October 2019 received on inaugural visit the UNICEF Representative in Croatia, Regina Maria Castillo.
The two officials underlined the very good cooperation between the Croatian Government and UNICEF Croatia.
Grlić Radman and Castillo discussed additional possibilities in implementing the five-year cooperation programme between the Croatian Government and the UNICEF, ending in 2021 and designed to advance children’s rights in Croatia and help children across the globe. Castillo applauded the Croatian Government’s aid to Syrian child refugees in Jordan as well as its decision to send USD 50,000-worth of humanitarian aid to Yemen through the UNICEF.
In light of Croatia’s upcoming EU chairmanship, the two officials talked about the activities of and cooperation with the UNICEF in promoting and protecting human rights, as well as children’s and youth rights.
