The conference discussed a wide spectrum of possible security and stability threats in the Western Balkans and consequently beyond, as well as possible effects on the stability of Europe. The participants also reflected on the role of Russia, China and Turkey in the new security architecture.
Bušić participated in a panel on “Security Challengers in the Balkans and European Security”, which discussed threats such as migration, Islamic radicalization and terrorism, which could profoundly destabilize the region. The panel also saw Victor Micula, the State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with whom Bušić held talks on the margins of the conference.
Also participating in the conference apart from Bušić was Croatian Ambassador to Romania Marija Kapitanović.
