Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 10 October 2019 in Barcelona attended the 4th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, where he underscored the importance of maritime safety in the Mediterranean and the world.

Grlić Radman informed his colleagues of joint efforts by Croatia and Ukraine in the search for Captain Dino Miškić and the Ukrainian crew members, with the support of France, the United States and the European Maritime Safety Agency.

This year's Regional Forum, held in the presence of senior representatives of EU institutions, highlighted the need for joint action by all Mediterranean countries in protecting the environment and fighting the negative effects of climate change. The Mediterranean Sea is among the world’s most endangered areas environmentally, and Croatia as a Mediterranean country attaches special attention to protecting the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas as well as coastal areas.
