Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 1 October 2019 in Brussels attended an informal meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (Trade).
The ministers talked with Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström about the current challenges in global trade, notably the WTO crisis, trade with the US and the status of trade negotiations with other countries and regions. They also reflected on the recently inked political agreement between the EU and Mercosur.
Grlić Radman underscored that Croatia advocates a free and open trade based on fair competition. He expressed support for the European Commission’s efforts in maintaining the multilateral trade system and pursue dialogue with the most important trade partners.
The foreign minister underlined the importance of ties between trade and sustainable development.
