FM holds quadrilateral talks; Croatia establishes diplomatic relations with Marshall Islands

Tuesday 24 September 2019 saw the start of the general debate of UNGA 74. Addressing the event, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović underscored combating plastic in the seas and oceans as one of Croatia’s priorities and called for all UN member states to fight for the same goal.

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman held quadrilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Greece, Romania and Bulgaria. The ministers focused on the EU integration prospects of North Macedonia and Albania as well as other countries in the region. They also discussed current EU topics, notably Brexit.

Grlić Radman met with the foreign ministers of Kenya and the Marshall Islands, signing with the latter an agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Croatia and that Pacific country.

The foreign minister also held talks with the US Undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Keith Krach on ways to advance cooperation in trade and energy.
