Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 12 September 2019 received on inaugural visit the Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani.
The two officials underscored the very good and friendly relations between Croatia and Italy, voicing desire to additionally strengthen them, notably in the areas of economy, tourism and culture.
Grlić Radman and Chiodi discussed regional and European matters of mutual interest: cooperation within the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AAI) and the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), as well as the challenges of protecting the EU external borders, Croatia and Italy’s responsibilities and the strategic role of the Mediterranean.
Grlić Radman expressed gratitude for Italy’s support for the realization of Croatia’s foreign policy goals: joining the Schengen Area, Eurozone and OECD.
