Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 12 September 2019 received the Spanish ambassador to Croatia, Alonso Dezcallar de Mazarredo.
The two officials underscored the very good and friendly bilateral relations between Croatia and Spain as well as successful cooperation within the EU and NATO. Grlić Radman thanked Dezcallar for the support Spain is showing Croatia in the realization of its foreign-policy priorities: joining the Schengen Area, Eurozone and the OECD.
They also discussed the prospects of boosting business cooperation as well as joint projects on renewable energy, culture and high education. In early November, the City of Alicante will dedicate one whole week to showcasing Croatia as a country and a tourist destination, while Spanish writers are being presented to the Croatian public as part of the World Literature Festival in Zagreb. Croatia and Spain are linked by other matters of mutual interest, notably the Mediterranean and the cooperation between its northern and southern shore.
