Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman 3 September 2019 attended the Bled Strategic Forum, which this year was dedicated to the sources of stability and instability. Topics included sustainable development, efficient natural resource management, multilateralism, future of NATO, protectionism, human rights and challenges facing the new European Commission.

Grlić Radman delivered keynote address at a panel on “What Lies Ahead of the New European Commission?” The minister outlined the priorities of Croatia’s Council of the EU chairmanship – measures stimulating balanced development of countries and regions, linking, citizen security and pushing for a greater EU influence in the world. Grlić Radman also underlined that Croatia supported the Western Balkans countries on their European journey, provided the criteria are met, which means expanding the zone of stability and prosperity onto Europe’s southeast.

The minister underscored that Croatia believed in a strong EU that places its citizens first.
