On 22 and 23 August 2019 the ministry hosted this year’s two-day Conference of Ambassadors, Consuls General and Military Attachés of the Republic of Croatia.
The conference was opened by President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković.
This annual event, hosted by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, provided an opportunity for an in-depth discussion on the Croatian diplomacy’s current challenges.
The participants talked about topical international issues, geopolitical and security framework, crucial economic processes and the imperative of further advancement of public and cultural diplomacy. They also discussed relations with Southeast European countries, multilateral organizations, priorities and challenges of economic diplomacy, and cooperation with Croats abroad.
Special attention was attached to the activities regarding Croatia’s Council of the EU chairmanship as well as the role of diplomatic missions and consular offices in boosting Croatia’s recognizability during the chairmanship.
Addresses were delivered by ministers and heads of other state bodies active in the European and international arena, once again achieving an impressive interinstitutional synergy.
