Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman today held a ceremonious reception for the representatives of the diplomatic corps in Croatia.
Addressing the event, Grlić Radman recalled his beginnings in the Croatian diplomacy and his contribution to the establishment of the foreign affairs service. He underlined that in the past three decades Croatia’s most important strategic goals had been achieved – the UN, NATO and EU membership. From a war-torn recipient of the European Community Monitoring Mission, Croatia has grown into a country set to take over the Council of the EU chairmanship in five months. Grlić Radman also highlighted out foreign-policy priorities in the period ahead: the EU presidency in 2020, entering the Schengen Area and eurozone, as well as joining the OECD.
The foreign minister thanked the diplomatic corps for their work, expressing belief in diplomacy as a joint response to the current peace and security challenges.
