Croatia presented on Tuesday at the UN headquarters New York the first Voluntary National Review (VNR), showing the activities and results of the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs represent a road map for the period until 2030 and include areas ranging from health and education to energy, economic growth, climate change, justice and institutions. The VNR was presented by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Zdravka Bušić.

The presentation of the first VNR before the High-Level Political Forum was an opportunity for Croatia to evaluate the achievements in the implementation of the SDGs thus far. The VNR was drawn up concurrently with the National Development Strategy until 2030, as the basis for the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda in Croatia.

The VNR was prepared by the Croatian Government based on input from the state administration bodies whose heads are members of the National Council for Sustainable Development. Also involved in its drafting were representatives of the business community, civil society and NGOs.
