State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić 11 July 2019 received on inaugural visit Japanese Ambassador Misako Kaji.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Croatia and Japan in 2018, which opened the door for further advancement of economic relations. Kaji was hopeful that during her term of office a direct air route linking the two countries would be opened.
The Japanese ambassador congratulated on the election of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić as the Council of Europe secretary-general.
