Kazakhstani consulate opens in Split

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić together with Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Croatia Tolezhan Barlybayev 6 May 2019 opened a Kazakhstani consular office in Split.

This is the third Kazakhstani consulate in Croatia along with the ones in Umag and Dubrovnik and will be headed by honorary consul Mateo Tramontana, an experienced businessman in shipbuilding and tourism.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Pejčinović Burić underlined the very good and friendly relations between Croatia and Kazakhstan, adding that the work of the honorary consul is an exceptionally valued and important bridge of cooperation. It is in both countries’ interest to strengthen economic cooperation, which was confirmed during Pejčinović Burić’s visit to Kazakhstan on 30 April 2019.

The opening a Croatian Embassy in Nur-Sultan and now the consulate in Split will contribute to stronger cooperation between the two countries and help boost tourist exchange.
