MFEA condemns Serb Radical Party’s rally

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs condemns the holding of a rally of the Serb Radical Party led by convicted war criminal Vojislav Šešelj in the town of Hrtkovci, the symbol of suffering of Vojvodina’s Croats. That the event was held in the same place where war crimes had been committed is an unacceptable mockery of victims, thousands of deported Croats and of all members of the ethnic Croat minority in Vojvodina. We expect the Serbian authorities to clearly deplore such assemblies that promote the politics and views which have been unequivocally condemned by the Hague tribunal and the civilised world. We also expect real, not just declarative respect for national minority rights and a true readiness to face the past.
