The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs was not informed about Ambassador Ivan Del Vechio’s decision to attend a celebration of the unconstitutional “Republika Srpska Day” in Banja Luka, and will investigate how that has occurred.
The ministry condemns in the strongest terms the decoration of former JNA officer Slavko Lisica, who was convicted in Croatia for war crimes committed in the area of Šibenik in 1991.
At the request of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić recalled Del Vechio to Zagreb for consultations.
