Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 19 November 2018 in Brussels attended a meeting of the General Affairs Council (Art. 50). The Council prepared the special meeting of the European Council (Art. 50) scheduled for 25 November 2018.
The EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier informed ministers on the state of play. Ministers exchanged views on the draft Brexit withdrawal agreement and commented on the outline for a political declaration on future EU-UK relations. On 25 November 2018, EU27 leaders are expected to endorse the Brexit withdrawal agreement and to approve the political declaration on future EU-UK relations. Croatia finds the withdrawal agreement acceptable, notably in regard to citizens’ rights, the financial settlement and the transition period, Pejčinović Burić said after the meeting.
