Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 10 October 2018 in Strasbourg, in the capacity of the Council of Ministers chairperson, attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Pejčinović Burić informed PACE about the activities of the Committee of Ministers as well as the implementation of Croatia’s chairmanship programme, and announced the events to take place before its completion. She underlined the upcoming high-level conference on combating corruption, which Croatia is co-organizing with the Group of States against Corruption 16 October 2018 in Šibenik. She thanked PACE for the cooperation to date during Croatia’s chairmanship.
After the address, Pejčinović Burić answered questions from the members.
During her stay in Strasbourg, Pejčinović Burić met with CoE Secretary General Thørbjorn Jagland and PACE President Liliane Maury Pasquier to discuss the current challenges that CoE is faced with as well as its future action. She also held talks with ECHR President Guido Raimondi about the present activities of the court.
