Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 26 September 2018 hosted a ministerial meeting of the Quadrilateral (Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, and Romania). The ministers discussed the current developments in Southeast Europe and further efforts in the implementation of the nuclear agreement with Iran. They agreed to further strengthen the already successful cooperation within the group which, apart for foreign policy topics, will also focus on other EU affairs.

Pejčinović Burić also hosted a meeting of the Central European Initiative (CEI), which is currently chaired by Croatia. The meeting was the continuation of talks held in Split in June this year. The participants talked about the experience and challenges of the European integration process and joint efforts aimed at sustainable regional stability. As the meeting’s host, Pejčinović Burić gave a brief summary of the current and a plan for future activities during Croatia's CEI presidency. She announced a CEI summit and business forum, to be held in December in Zagreb.

The FM also attended a high-level meeting on Syria, organised by the EU, which focused on responding to the crisis in Syria, as well as a number of other meetings of the Croatian delegation.

On the fringes of UNGA, Pejčinović Burić held a series of bilateral talks, including those with the foreign ministers of Oman, Bahrain, and Libya.
