The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs 7 June 2018 hosted a ceremony marking the Croatian Diplomacy Day. On that day in 879, Pope John VIII sent a letter to Croatian Prince Branimir, recognizing the sovereignty of the medieval state of Croatia.
On Diplomacy Day, diplomas are traditionally presented to attendees of the one-year professional course at the Diplomatic Academy.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić recalled in her address the early days of Croatian diplomacy during the 90’s, highlighted the main activities of the previous year, and announced the activities as well as various challenging tasks and goals that lay ahead of our diplomacy.
At the end of the ceremony, Pejčinović Burić presented diplomas to the 18th generation of graduates from the Diplomatic Academy.
