The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, together with the Bulgarian Embassy, Representation of the European Commission, European Parliament’s Information Office, embassies of the EU member states, and under the auspices of the City of Zagreb, traditionally celebrated Europe Day 12 May 2018. Croatia had celebrated Europe Day for 18 years and this year it was also marking five years of its EU membership.
The celebration of Europe Day is an opportunity to present to the public, together with other member countries, citizens and representatives of EU institutions, what the EU membership means and underscore that the EU today is a part of the world with the highest standards of living. The rich culture and arts programme showcased the citizens how individual identity and cultural heritage are preserved in the EU.
