The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as part of the academic conference on “The Role of Law and Courts in a Changing European Union” held by the Zagreb University’s Faculty of Law, organized a reception at the historic building in Zagreb’s Visoka Street, where the ministry was first located in the early years of Croatia’s independence.
The conference saw addresses by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, University of Zagreb’s Rector Damir Boras, President of the European Court of Justice Koen Lenaerts, ministers, justice representatives, as well as distinguished members of the Croatian and international academic community. The conference was one of the series of events marking Croatia’s fifth EU membership anniversary. It confirmed the importance of the role of the EU Court of Justice as one of the fundamental institutions of the union, as well as that of the Croatian courts in interpreting and implementing the EU law.
