Following the European Council session 23 March, Croatia, like most of the EU member states, decided to show its solidarity with London and 26 March withdrew its welcome to one Russian Embassy diplomat in Zagreb.
By declaring the Russian diplomat persona non grata, the Croatian government stood with its EU and NATO partners and allies in unequivocally condemning any threat to the international law as well as to European and global security.
On 30 March, Croatia’s ambassador in Moscow Tonči Stančić was informed of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s decision to withdraw its welcome to one Croatian diplomat, a former employee at the Croatian Embassy in Moscow.
