Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 26 March 2018 received on official visit Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.

The two officials underlined good and friendly bilateral relations between Croatia and Algeria, stressing the need to intensify all forms of cooperation. Apart from bilateral relations, Pejčinović Burić and Messahel talked about the situation in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Europe, as well as the neighbourhood and relations with the EU. The two ministers also discussed illegal migration, terrorism and deradicalization. Pejčinović Burić underscored that Croatia advocated an all-encompassing approach to migration based on the European Agenda and supported measures aimed at dealing with the root causes of instability and preventing human trafficking.
