Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić 5 March 2018 met with the British Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, David Davis.

Davis outlined the British views on the future UK-EU relations and the course of the negotiations.

Pejčinović Burić said it was in the interest of both sides, notably the citizens and business people, to reach an agreement on key issues so as to avoid the prolongation of periods of uncertainty. She stressed that one of the more important elements for Croatia was to ensure the rights of citizens and that the Croatian government advocated lifting the restrictions on the free movement of workers.

The Croatian foreign minister also underlined that Croatia supported creating a partnership framework between the EU and post-Brexit Britain and was committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the new circumstances.
