Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić 22 February 2018 received President of the Meshihat of Islamic Community in Croatia, Mufti Aziz Hasanović.
The two officials underlined that Croatia had been recognized internationally as a model of excellent relations and cooperation between the state and the Islamic religious community. They recalled that 2016 saw the ceremonious marking of the 100th anniversary of the Croatian parliament’s recognition of Islam as one of the equal-right religions in Croatia. They also stressed the contribution of the Islamic community to training Croatian soldiers for peace-keeping missions in predominantly Muslim countries and cooperation in implementing development cooperation programs.
