Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić 30 January 2018 received on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Croatia, Risto Piipponen.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with the very good bilateral relations, exchanged views on the current bilateral and European topics and underlined mutual interest to intensify economic cooperation and coordinate preparations for the 2019 Council of the EU presidency (the Romania-Finland-Croatia Trio).
Other topics included this year’s Croatia-Finland presidency over the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers as well as Croatia’s joining the Schengen Area and the Eurozone. Pejčinović Burić welcomed Piipponen, wishing him success during his term of office in Croatia.
