The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs today called the Serbian ambassador in Zagreb to be handed the note over, according to available information, an ethnically motivated assault on three youths of Croatian ethnicity in Sonta on 24 December 2017 which resulted in physical injuries.
The ambassador refused to accept the note, dismissing any claims that the assault was ethnically motivated.
The ministry expects Serbia’s officials and institutions to urgently establish all the facts and take appropriate measures in accordance with the law. We will closely follow the steps that will be taken to shed light on all the circumstances of this incident.
