The Republic of Croatia has decided to withdraw its candidacy for the seat of the European Medicines Agency.
Such a decision was made after our assessment of the procedure preceding the decision to relocate this agency from the United Kingdom. We believe that this procedure does not ensure the evaluation of all the criteria in the same way and that it was subject to arbitrary findings of the European Medicines Agency.
In this process, Croatia has, however, gained valuable experience of competing for future EU agencies and bodies.
We believe that the foundation for all future decisions should be the principle of equality between Member States, including in the first place the equitable distribution of headquarters of EU agencies and other bodies.
