Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 4 October 2017 received on inaugural visit Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Croatia.
Pejčinović Burić and Pinto concurred that bilateral relations between Croatia and the Holy See were excellent, describing the upcoming visit by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and his meeting with the Holy Father on 7 October 2017 as a new concrete step in their further advancement.
Expressing satisfaction that the Holy Father appointed him for service in Croatia, Pinto said that his specific goal, apart from maintaining the high quality of the two countries’ relations, was to further intensify the dialogue with Croatian bishops, with whom he wished to maintain continued dialogue on all current issues.
