In regard to the recent events surrounding the referendum in Catalonia, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs underlines that as a member of the European Union, the Republic of Croatia strongly advocates the promotion of European values and the rule of law. Regarding this internal issue of the Kingdom of Spain, consistent commitment to those values implies the need for a continued dialogue to overcome disputes and find a peaceful solution. We voice concern about the violence and call for defusing the situation, establishing political dialogue and seeking a solution in the spirit of democracy.
