Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 30 August 2017 met with the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica.
Komarica explained the current situation faced by the Croats living in Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the importance of Croats returning to Republika Srpska as well as the challenges he and his associates dealt with in their attempts to preserve and develop the Croatian and Catholic identity. He was hopeful about an effective and all-encompassing solution to the status of Croats in Republika Srpska. Pejčinović Burić thanked Komarica for his humanity and tireless efforts in protecting the rights and identity of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as his committed engagement in returning Croats to Republika Srpska. She underscored that the status of B-H Croats was one of this government’s priorities and that we wanted to hear the issues and suggestions so that we could engage even more actively in their solution.
