Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić 21 August 2017 signed on behalf of the Croatian government the Book of Condolence over the terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, Spain.

“I was deeply shaken by the news of the cruel attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils and the large number of innocent victims. Please accept deepest sympathy on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and myself. Appalled by the terrible act, we remain determined in the defence of fundamental European values and the joint fight against all forms of terrorism. In these hard moments for your country, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to families of the victims and wish those injured a speedy recovery,” reads Pejčinović Burić’s message.
