On this day four years ago, the Republic of Croatia became the 28th member country of the European Union.
Croatia’s EU membership confirmed the historical fact of Croatia’s belonging to Europe and offered an opportunity of development in a stable environment.
The European Union is recognized and appreciated in the world for its highest standards – not only in the areas of economy and the environment, but in regard to democratic values, rule of law and human rights as well.
As a member country of the European Union, Croatia has a place at the common European table, where it acts constructively, advocating its political and economic interests, while at the same time contributing to the common goals of peace, stability and prosperity in Europe. In the everyday life we can see the benefits of common EU policies and projects aimed at economic growth and job opportunities, education, culture and numerous other aspects.
