State Secretary Marija Pejčinović Burić attended as a personal envoy of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković “The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation”, held 14 and 15 May in Beijing. On the sidelines, Pejčinović Burić signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on cooperation in the One Belt, One Road initiative.
The forum was attended by more than 1200 guests from over a 100 countries and introduced a wide range of possibilities, notably in infrastructural linkage.
Croatia supports the One Belt, One Road initiative, aimed at a more quality and stronger transport and energy tying between China and Europe, in the context of its complementarity with Central Europe’s Three Seas Initiative, implemented by Croatia, as well as cooperation within the China+16 platform.
The state secretary also met with representatives of Huawei, ZEG Financing Holding Corporation and Weltmeister Shanghai, and held talks with a representative of Podravka in China.
