Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Ivo Stier sent a note of condolence to his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier over the terrorist attack in Berlin.
On behalf of his ministry and himself, Stier expressed deepest condolences and wished the wounded a quick recovery. “I was with disbelief that I received the news about the attack at the Berlin Christmas market. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families, to which I extend sincerest condolences on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and myself. We wish the wounded a quick and successful recovery. Allow me to underscore that no terrorist act will change our belief that a life in freedom and dignity is stronger than hate and terror. Croatia stands in these sad moments with our German friends and is ready to further strengthen the close cooperation with Germany and other European and global partners in order to thwart attacks on our citizens and our way of life,” reads Stier’s note.
