(Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Davor Ivo Stier met with his new Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano during an official visit to the Vatican on Saturday.
"The meeting took place on the initiative of my colleague Alfano, who learned that I was in Vatican City. We agreed for 2017 a coordinating committee at the level of foreign ministers and cooperation within the Berlin Process, which Italy chairs as of next year. At the end of 2017 we are opening a year of Croatian culture in Italy, which will last through 2018," Stier told the press.
Alfano previously served as Minister of the Interior. In November 2013 he established the New Centre-Right Party, which is a member of the European People's Party.
The Croatian foreign minister concluded his official visit to the Holy See by visiting the Church and Pontifical Croatian College of St Jerome.
