On 20 October 2016 a ceremonial handover of duty was held at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs between former minister Miro Kovač and the newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Davor Ivo Stier. Kovač presented Stier with the activity report, officially handing over the office.
