(Hina) – According to the available information, there are no Croatian nationals among the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice, said Foreign Minister Miro Kovač, condemning the attack which killed 84 people.

“We are in contact with the Croatian embassy in France and I am personally in contact with the Croatian community in Nice. According to what we know so far, there are no Croats among the victims,” Kovač told the press.

The head of Croatian diplomacy expressed condolences to his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault and the French citizens over one of the worst terrorist attacks in France’s history. “This just goes to show that we must never underestimate the threat of terrorism and that we have to be vigilant and keep our eyes open together,” he said.

Kovač underlined that the attack had dealt a blow not only to France but to the entire European Union, “as this is about its security too”. “For now, we see no danger of terrorist attacks in Croatia,” he added.
