Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač visited today the German Embassy in Zagreb to extend sympathies to the German people and Ambassador Thomas Eberhard Schultze over the death of former vice chancellor and foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, who will always be remembered by the Croatian people as a committed advocate of Croatia’s right to self-determination. “On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and myself, I express deepest condolences to the Genscher family and the German Foreign Office. The world, Europe and Germany have lost a great statesman, and Croatia lost a great friend,” Kovač wrote in the condolence book.
