FM Kovač attends marking of 25th Visegrad Group anniversary

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač 8 March 2016 attended a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Visegrad Group (V4), held at the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač 8 March 2016 attended a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Visegrad Group (V4), held at the Hungarian Institute in Zagreb.

In his address, Kovač underlined the important role the V4 countries played on the European level and beyond. He said Croatia had a unified foreign and European policy and would strengthen its vertical cooperation with Central Europe, along with its stronger involvement in Southeast Europe as part of horizontal cooperation, in accordance with the Croatian president’s Adriatic-Baltic initiative.

An address was also delivered by Czech Ambassador Martin Košatka, the current chair of the V4, who outlined the Group’s achievements and stressed the importance of Croatia’s intent to strengthen relations with the V4.
