Takeover of duties at MFEA

A takeover of duties was held at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs between Vesna Pusić and the newly-appointed Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač

A takeover of duties was held at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs between Vesna Pusić and the newly-appointed Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač.

The new Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miro Kovač told the press that after the takeover of duties, the first task was going to be the analysis of the ministry’s budget in order to make a quality budget proposal for 2016.

Asked about his position on the refugee crisis, Kovač said he had already held talks with the prime minister and deputy prime minister, as well as with the ministers of the interior and defence, on how to efficiently coordinate the tackling of the issue and establish contacts with the neighbouring countries. “One of the most important tasks on the foreign policy front is stabilising and improving relations with our neighbours and strengthening Croatia’s European cooperation,” Kovač said, adding that he had already spoken with his Hungarian counterpart.

At the takeover meeting with representatives of the ministry, Kovač was informed in brief about the activities and plans for the future.
