First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić in Belgrade attended the 22nd Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić in Belgrade attended the 22nd Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). She congratulated Serbia on presiding over the OSCE during a difficult period and on successfully organizing the conference. It is obvious that the importance of this organization is growing, Pusić said, judging by the level of participants and the countries attending the meeting, as well as the organization’s constant openness to dialogue.

The OSCE is today the focal point of a discussion on numerous key issues such as migration, terrorism and the war in Ukraine, and some of these global security issues could be resolved through dialogue between the OSCE member countries, Pusić said, stressing that she though the security situation in the Balkans had deescalated. Despite various obstacles and problems, the countries of Southeast Europe are nevertheless heading towards the same goals: better organization, economic growth and awareness about the interconnectedness of stability in the region, Pusić said, adding that “if we are able to stabilize ourselves, we will significantly contribute to the stability of Europe and beyond”.
